  1. Getting Dec 30th, 2000 aka 'The Millennial Snowstorm' vibes for tomorrow..... yes its a different look with this storm so not exactly the perfect match, more the extreme snow differences and cut offs. Will be a headache tmrw for many. http://www.raymondcmartinjr.com/weather/2001/30-Dec-00-500MillibarMaps.html
  2. Heavy sleet.... mixed with snow. Enjoy peeps NW.
  3. Pinging on/off last 20min. Kinda expected this here. Hopefully mix line gets knocked off shore soon.
  4. Cooling fast it seems 34-37f around looking at obs. Car is starting to get that slushy look.. by 7 should be getting white most surface areas.
  5. Little turn towards west. May be the start of the W to SW movement.
  6. Not bad looking, fighting off the shear... tmrw will be interesting.
  7. Winds are gusting more than I expected at this hour. Power outages will be an issue again I fear.
  8. Lot of meso model support for some local qpf amounts around 2" which is why nws has some of these high amounts in NJ and around NYC. It is entirely possible C Nj to NYC sees 1.75"+ qpf and therefore supporting the high amounts but it is also possible it just misses off shore or is focused south over C Nj and S Nj. There will be a sharpcut off to the north and that has been mentioned. Will be interesting to see more data tonight. The sleet I'm having rn def helps support overall northward push of our main storm tmrw. Also to note, many of our historic storms have some iso sleet mix esp coastal Nj, Li, NYC. So I wouldnt't be shocked to see this briefly tmrw at times like the NAM shows but the NAM it self might be overdone with the surge.

  10. yup yup absolutely. Even 18z HRDPS looks great at end of run..
  11. With the 12z EPS having many members leaning west of mean and then seeing the 18Z GEFS mean little more east there is still plenty wiggle room. But having the Euro look the way it does certainty adds more weight rn.
  12. Time to get some IRL stuff done before sounding fest #4 of March . Amazing month after a record warm Feb.
