Current Observations: Winter 2019-20

I didn't observe it myself, but some pretty wonky stuff is happening in Florida this morning.

First of all, temps are crazy low. 20's into the Tampa area, sub freezing down near Naples, and sub-40 in Miami.

Breezy (ish) NW winds are pushing wind chills into dangerous-for-Florida territory (wind chill criteria down there is pretty weak-sauce from our perspective but if you've only experienced a wind chill <30F once or twice in your life, I guess this would be quite the shock.

Apparently, humans aren't the only ones shell-shocked by sub 40F temps in S FL

If people are interested, I dug into this event a bit more on the blog this morning: https://blog.weather.us/unusual-cold-snap-impacting-florida-this-morning/

At the end of this, Florida might have more Iguana accumulation then I have snow accumulation.

16* for my low this morning and areas just South of me at my friend in Hackensack said his thermometer read a low of 20*.  Not to much but with about 2" of white frozen on the ground by me and none by him may have helped.

Light snow 33F looking at 1 to 3 tonight. Approaching seasonal avg of 16 in.  It's a nice wet snow sticking on everything. Very pretty.
