Good Thursday morning everyone,  Just a quick cut and paste edit.   HIGH IMPACT wind damage and flood potential event by this time Christmas morning. Strongest winds in NJ/ne PA/se NYS rough

Here are some NAM forecast soundings for this upcoming event, compared to some soundings for April 13th of this year, when parts of the NJ shore gusted over 70 and 50+ gusts occurred all the way to Sc

I think the HRRR has a good depiction of wind gusts for this evening (winds are in knots - shown below). I think most of the area will top out close to 60 mph, with a few isolated areas perhaps getting up to 70 mph?

HRRR and 3k NAM have a nice line passing by NYC around 8-11z tomorrow. That can certainly bring down some nice gusts for the area.

Gusting to 25 & 26 mph in Muttontown & Syosset currently.

Roughly the same here I'd say. Probably hit 30 or so before.

We moved into a condo in Jan, still waiting to get permission to properly mount the Davis high enough, lol

At least it’s snowing on Mt Washington.  Oh, wait:

Thu 24 | Night

SSW 67 mph

Windy with rain likely. Low 29F. Winds SSW at 60 to 80 mph. Chance of rain 100%. 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. Locally heavier rainfall possible.

But it’s Christmas Eve, so I can’t and won’t say misery loves company.  No misery tonight.  Amazement, yes - misery, no!
