There is going to be a battle between the southeast ridge and the colder phases of the MJO for the next 1-2 weeks. The SST anomalies are very warm across the north atlantic which favors a SE ridge, but with MJO in the cold phases there could be troughs pressing against the SER.

Wow those waters are warm for this time of the year. Doesnt bold well at all for tropical season.

If anyone's to see anything this week it's likely N and W of 287 with the second wave Friday. Tuesday has all but entirely dried out. If flakes or a coating make it further to the i95/metros take that as a win. Still a good deal of uncertainty with the details, but the wider lens: 2 cool shots this week and then it's pretty hard to argue anything other than 'curtains' after the equinox with a fairly zonal/pac flow with the Alaskan Low taking over as we take the next step in to spring
